Math Accomplice

As a math teacher, I have worked for over 17 years in a Brooklyn public middle school, as well as taught math in both upper elementary and high school classrooms. I’ve also organized and run after-school test prep classes for both the State Math Test and the Specialized High School Aptitude Test. And, for many years I ran a lively after-school math club, The Math Squad! where students were able to improve their math skills, build their confidence as striving mathematicians, and learn to love the beauty of solving complex multi-step math problems. Nothing gives me more joy than helping a student understand and excel in math.

Through my years of teaching, I've been able to help kids work through the common obstacles encountered in math class, and those particular challenges individual students might face. I understand how learning math progresses from lesson to lesson, over the course of the school year and across the grades. And I've seen how it varies from one student to the next. No matter what a student needs... supports to get them through a challenging concept or unit, or challenging extensions on what their currently learning, I can help them build upon existing understanding and mastery to give them the confidence they need to overcome current and future obstacles and achieve success.

I've worked with students at all academic challenge levels and have been committed to helping each of them achieve their full potential. Every student has the ability to succeed, and I am dedicated to aiding and supporting them accomplish just that.
